The national debt actually shrank during the LBJ administration by almost 20%. It also dropped during the following Nixon administration. Deficit spending in this country didn't start in the 60's. Our government has been doing it for a long time. Sometimes warranted. Many times not. During WWII our national debt reached a whopping 120% of GDP! Warranted. I do agree with the main point of your message. America has been indiscriminately borrowing too much money during the last 30 years and the problem is starting to come to a head. But I do *not* agree with your twisted rationale (and tone). Obama alone didn't get us to where we are. No matter how much you want this to be a DNC created problem, the truth is far from that. Both parties are to blame for our $12 trillion debt. Heck during the Reagan/Bush "Reaganomics" years our national debt increased by 40% of GDP!!! Where were the tea parties then? The more obvious target would have been the Social Security program implemented during the Great Depression. It's progressive benefit structure makes it the quintessential entitlement program.
