Casualties in Afghanistan
Nov 26th, 2009 by The Outsider
Awhile Obama is trying to make up his mind about how to fight a “necessary” war in Afghanistan, many soldiers are being killed. But first, a brief summary of what transpired before now.
Obama was totally against the war in Iraq before his election. It even helped to get him elected, along with the corrupt press and progressive groups like ACORN. Then he said that the war in Afghanistan was a necessary war. He was going to bring ‘hope and change’ and that he was going to consult the “experts” about how to go about winning in Afghanistan. He put General McCrystal in charge of that war. When the war was obviously being lost and we were losing troops in large numbers, General McCrystal asked for 40,00o more troops. That was back in August this year! We are now late in November and Obama is still talking about his strategy about how to fight the war and how many troops he will send. Just where are all the experts he said he would consult? Awhile soldiers are dying, Obama is…….thinking! The war is almost lost and Obama is giving us and General McCrystal lip service in his usual overly confident fashion.
Since August, 2009, 167 of our American soldiers have died fighting a war that seems hopeless. The mainstream media is quiet.

Now Obama and his experts are talking about the cost of the war and how it may affect the number of men he sends to General McCrystal. It also may affect the type and amount of equipment the men need to fight effectively. I did hear how Obama is saving the life of a thanksgiving day turkey! Wow, what compassion! As the old line goes: It’s hard to soar like an eagle when one hangs around with turkeys. All we hear from Obama and his media is a bunch of Gobbly-gook. Every decision or non-decision he makes is political. He is still stuck in his ACORN community organizing mode, Chicago style!
When our family celebrates Thanksgiving this year, we will thank the fighting men and God for everything we have. Then we will pray for God to send us a real leader and to bless our country.

Word has it that Obama will send 35,000 troops to Afghanistan and pledge to send another 10,000 if the Generals request it down the road. On the surface this sounds good but from what I can see, he is leaving himself a lot of room to get out of dodge. I would like to support his decision but I don’t trust the weasel. I do not think that he is in this to win. It is all politics. Speaking of which, he is going to anger his leftist supporters big time if he does indeed authorize the deployment of the troops. An aside here. I wonder what percentage of men will comprise the new troops. How many will be women?
On a somewhat related topic, there was a very interesting caller on Rush’s show yesterday who claims that the charges against the SEALs who allegedly gave the terrorist a fat lip are related to Obama’s anger at the Navy Commander who gave the OK for the sharp shooters to kill the Somali pirates. According to the caller, the administration was livid that this was how the hostage situation was resolved as they had given strict orders that no blood be shed. Interesting and disturbing if there is any truth to it. But of course we will probably never know. The caller who followed detailed how PC our military has become since the Tailhook incident. Patsy Schroeder did enormous damage to our military as a result. I have heard countless stories from vets about the negative impact of PC in the military and have been concerned about this for a long time.
