Contrast and reasoning

My colleague has written an excellent article http://www.lehighvalleyconservative.com/choice-in-government/ contrasting the differences between the parties. He has gone down the list of issues and different life situations pointing out stark contrasts. These differences cannot be reconciled if they are deep rooted in one’s suppositions and the sadness of all this is such disagreements can find no reasoning process that can correct them, for they are imbedded in faith even though they might be evil and their faith is misplace in that position.
We are talking about the suppositional starting point of what one believes, it is his core belief, well beyond reasoning. The reasons for those positions are then used to support and justify the person’s position. Reason is and must always be the handmaid of faith and the only question that remain is, which faith, which axiom shall reason serve and defend. It is in politics and ethics that the consequences of one’s fundamental beliefs become obvious. Non-Christian dogma and their philosophies place reason as being independent of and prior to any presuppositions of faith. Faith in “Self” or something else other then the God of the Bible is there position and reason will always take the command and lead, they will think reason can and will solve their problems.
We have come to the cross roads in this political presidential campaign were the candidate’s positions have all been exposed. There remains only one thing left for analysis and that is their reason for holding those so widely varying beliefs. We are well past classification of the issue, I want to know why O’bama as a socialist, is running for the office of president of the United States? He is taking us down an evil path and no one is calling him on it, why not? I want to know why McCain isn’t asking the hard questions? And why the government is taking us down the road to economic destruction?
If the core beliefs cannot be exposed as being evil, we cannot attack any reasoning process for reasoning and logic only point to the evil thing itself, reasoning is not evil. Reasoning could be false or used in some lie for deception but still the process of reasoning is noble. For the Lord has said in Isaiah 1:18 “—let us reason together—”
We have reasoned long enough in this campaign, let us get to the evilness which underlies the issue and why we should expose them and not accept the candidates position. If we cannot defend something that is a God given right what can we defend? If we cannot defend the law of the land what can we defend? If evil is not evil what are we doing?
