Double Standard

The mainstream media has a double standard when reporting political news. They always support the Democrats with favorable comments and rarely say anything good about the Republicans. The nomination of Sotomayor for the Supreme court is just another example. The press can’t seem to find a single fault with Sotomayor but when Judge Bork, Thomas, Alito and Roberts were nominated by a Republican president, they had very little praise and lots of negatives to spout off about, many of which were false.
Sotomayor did in fact make several comments revealing a racist attitude, something no conservative nominee could ever make without being rejected immediately by the Democrats and should be. I’m not willing to say she is a racist. Maybe she just got carried away and got stuck on stupid. The problem is, we don’t know and the press is no longer the watchdog for the people, just attack dogs working for the leftists, mainly Obama and the Democrat party. After all, they helped get him elected. I wonder if that is in the constitution? Maybe when Sotomayor fills her position on the Supreme Court, she will, somehow, see it in the law….somewhere?
We know by some of the remarks that Obama made during his campaign, that he wants to change the constitution. That could be the reason for picking Sotomayor. But then again, Obama has broken a number of long tested standards in our constitution and not a word from the media. With their help, he doesn’t need someone to alter the laws to suit him. He already has the media on his side no matter what he says or actually does. If he flip flops on his positions, the media just says that he ”was” in campaign mode before to satisfy his voting block, but now has to deal with reality.
When the Democrats were called on to vote on conservative Supreme Court nominees, they filibustered and would not even give an up or down vote. Why should the Republicans be so civil when the Democrats are not? That is another double standard. When the Republicans and Democrats get into a battle, the GOP uses a pea shooter and the Dems use cannons. The Repubs want to be “nice”, follow the law and be civilized, not so with the Democrat party. We should be asking why this is! What is it that makes this so? Is it the “enablers” in the mainstream media? Is it the wimps in the Republican party, not willing to fight back? Is it the difference in the moral standards of the people involved? Or is it something more sinister going on behind our backs involving both parties?
