Education and its Direction—-CHOOSE CAREFULLY
May 31st, 2009 by Randy Toman
In the book of 1st Kings 18:21 we have Elijah telling Israel this.
“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.” 1st Kings 18:21 King James Bible
Accountability and responsibility has been substituted for political correctness and emotionalism, academic learning became secondary to a preconceived model of behavior approved by government. It has become so problematic that the U.S. citizens cannot understand that we have a problem, principles and correct direction is gone. “The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America” Charlotte Iserbyt 1996 makes it very clear the process has been going on for sometime.
She says on page 56 these words:
“ Professor John Goodlad, the nation’s premiere change agent who has been receiving federal and tax-exempt foundation grants for at least thirty years said in 1969.”
“The most controversial issues of the twenty-first century will pertain to the ends and means of modifying human behavior and who shall determine them. The first educational question will not be what knowledge is of most worth? But what kinds of human beings do we wish to produce? The possibilities virtually defy our imagination.”
If you Google “Professor John Goodlad’s name it will get you started. I have included a few links so that you may get started doing your own research into the issue.

I’ll close with this page 55-56 of Ms. Iserbyt’s book
“American education would henceforth concern itself with the importance of the group rather than with the importance of the individual. This would be true in spite of the push towards individualized education (mastery learning and computers), Leading people to believe that concern for the individual was the driving force behind change.”
“Removal of the last semblance of local control would come through the passage of the “Elementary and secondary education Act of 1965” (ESEA) the most important piece of legislation to pass during Lyndon Johnson’s administration.”
There are two opinions and the people must choose one. Which one they choose will prove to be interesting and deadly to the country. Pray God will send Elijah or someone like him to show us the way. It may be the “Economy” as the instrument of down fall but it will be the lack of understanding, education and God’s forsaking us that will ultimately bring us down. CHOOSE CAREFULLY
We Shall See and I do believe shortly.
