Is Ms. Kay Haugaard correct?
Oct 29th, 2007 by Randy Toman
Two interesting items of information came to me last week both from “The Glenn Beck Show”. One is that; 71% of the Congressman’s constituents do not believe what the Congressman says. That and 11% over all approval rating make for the asking of the question how are we functioning as a country. Also begs the question, how are these guys getting elected to office if 71% don’t believe what they say?
The second was Glenn talking with George Noory of “Coast to Coast”. What they were talking about was the demise of the Middle Class family/citizen and how George was hearing more and more about this problem in the past weeks/months.
So as not to add words to what they were saying, allow me to pickup from there and put my own words to the subject. I have been saying this for years. In order to bring this country down they would have to do away with the middle class and/or change their values and that is exactly what has happened.
They have taken away the pool of leaders from the Middle Class that where to move up and stand in the gap with Biblical values. Instead we have leaders coming out of the ranks of our Universities that are liberal to the core and Atheist. And the people of the remaining Middle Class cannot see nor understand that they and this country are on the verge of collapse. There is nothing corrective being done and the dangers are there. Take a look at the abortion issue the people have not raised their voices in unison to protest. They cannot raise their voices in unison, why because they don’t agree and this is caused by the fact that they cannot see the truth of what is truly wrong. They cannot see this act as being against God’s law. Why is this?
Read on Ms. Haugaard tells us what is wrong.
In Gary DeMar’s article “The Moral Lottery that Chills to the Bone” in Biblical Worldview Magazine October/November 2007 issue, he writes this;
“Kay Haugaard has taught creative writing since 1970. As with most of her classes, students read and discuss Shirley Jackson’s short story “The Lottery.” http://www.bookrags.com/studyguide-thelottery/
“Haugaard began to see a change in the moral perceptions of her students. Their views on right and wrong had been dulled by the rhetoric of moral neutrality. …”The danger of just going along with out examining its rationale and values.”
The article goes on to say:
“We’ve become a nation of moral bystanders.”
I say maybe just “BYSTANDERS”
And this
“… But we’ve been cajoled into believing that nothing can be said in objection to the amoral climate.”
And this last quote from the article:
“These changes in moral perceptions and attitudes have been stunning.” “… Absent was a general outcry of indignation.” “…My generation in uncomfortable assessing, or even asking, whether a moral wrong has taken place.”
NOW IS THAT NOT A DANGEROUS POSITION FOR OUR COUNTRY AND PEOPLE TO BE IN???? ARE WE NOT THERE????
In closing, without a Biblical standard you cannot assess wrong, so all you “GOOD” Republicans you had better know your standards or maybe I’d better say if you don’t have any standards you had better get some and the Bible just might be the place to look.
