There is no doubt that both parties spend a lot of our tax money. What really concerns me is what that money is spent on. I do believe that the Repubs spent more money on worthwhile projects than the Democrats who seem to spend much on social programs. Social programs like welfare and other entitlements, keep the votes coming in for the the party that legislates and initializes those programs. After so many years of this "vote buying", there will be more people getting entitlements than people working for a living and as such, paying into the system. The worst element of entitlements is that it slowly destroys the confidence, pride and self respect of the person getting the entitlements. After all, these government handouts have been going on for many years and I don't see where it has helped at all. Now we have a whole class of "victims" who have no pride in themselves and depend on the government for their survival. Many of the other "unintentional" side effects include bad schools and a close to 50 % high school drop out rates for the minority "victim" classes. We have to pay for all this as crime rates go up and more jails have to be built.
The Republicans on the other hand, have to fight the media in spreading lies about how "greedy" the Republicans are and how they want to starve children. The Democrats also complain that millions of children don't have medical insurance. Children don't buy insurance, the parents have that responsibility. All a result of too many people with their hands out waiting for the government to give them whatever it is they want. In this wonderful country, there should be few people that can't "earn" a living. Seems the Democrat politicians WANT people to depend on them for everything. The public school system is a mess and yet the Democrats don't want school vouchers to help the ones that need it the most, the minorities. As all of you know, most Democrats send their children to private schools paid by the tax payers. They also get special retirement and medical coverage benefits awhile we get S.S. and Medicare! They get to vote themselves a raise while we have to work for ours. After ALL taxes, we get to take home about half our income. The Soviet style system controlled how much the people made....our system controls how much we take home and takes again evertime we buy something, even the things we need to have for survival. A new tax system is what we all need and you can bet that both parties will fight it all the way to U.S. bankruptcy. We MUST elect someone with a real desire to get this country back on track. It won't be easy but we must try.
