It’s your Party—I think?
Jan 30th, 2008 by Randy Toman
Looks like the Lehigh County Republican Party has their act together, with their Chairman taking some bold steps as a leader of the Party. He is making a very serious attempt to turn the political process around.
It would behoove every Republican committee person in Lehigh County to attend Thursday’s Jan. 31st. meeting and hear what is to be said. But let me stop and not put any false hopes and/or expectations in any ones thoughts.
And let me not end this in my usual fashion as one that always has his glass half empty. As I watched this unfold I have been extremely impressed by a couple of things.
One:
Everyone on the committee understood the Republican Party had a problem. (I really don’t want to debate that)
Two:
There was no pointing of fingers.
Three:
There was a cooperation that I have not seen in sometime.
Four:
I was impressed at the intellectual level shown in formulating their thoughts and putting them down on paper.
Five:
I was impressed at the professionalism of conduct. I know the presentation to take place Thursday evening will show that.
This presentation and unveiling of the document will not be a panacea for the party’s ills but will be a tool to used and to be built on.
I for one, as a life long Republican want to openly thank the County Chairman and Chair-person of the committee not for putting something together but allowing the Republican Party to try in helping itself. It will be the citizens and committee people that will make this effort work, not the committee. The first small step will be taken Thursday evening and we shall see what will happen.
You committee people spread the word and show up Thursday evening (1/31/2008), it’s your party.
