Just a Couple of Thoughts

I had to go back and read my article again because I never mention Democratic or Republican ideals and I was not trying to pigeonhole anyone but only make the point that there is no neutral spot that anyone can take on political issues, especially with issue of any magnitude that effect a large part of the social fabric. Yes there are only two options Right and Wrong unless you want to consider the gray area of compromise, or possibly the lesser of the two evils. If you have another option please do tell me.
Your points of argument with regards to Christianity shows me you know nothing of who Jesus Christ is nor who is in charge of this Universe. And YES adding God back into the schools would have an impact beyond your understanding. But without Faith or Belief what I would have to say would make no sense to you or any other non-believer so I would rather not waste my time or yours.
Don’t search the Internet but search the Scriptures as did the noble folks from Berea in Acts 17:11.

So my dear person were do you stand; with the goats or with the sheep (With HIM or Against HIM) or possibly you found another place to stand. In that case, please do let me know were that other position can be found, not that I would want to stand in it but it might give me a clue as to were you are headed.
For it is given once to die and then judgement. Don’t search the Internet but use your Bible if you have one. You will find that in: Hebrews 9: 27.

While not by name, you do mention “the Liberal element or any other element for that matter”, which, seeing as you’re a Republican, makes it fair to assume that you’re referring to the Democrats. Of course, this statement also implies that you are certain that YOUR opinion is the one that’s “right”. I have to wonder if you’re even open to hearing other opinions anymore. If not, then I fear that you’ve abandoned the search for true knowledge in favor of the comfort of assumption.

I’m a born-and-raised, baptized and confirmed Roman Catholic (technically). I know plenty about Jesus, and thank you for asking.

You continue to make this assertion, but you have yet to show HOW this will happen. As for my lack of “faith”, you should understand that a good rational argument requires no faith - only understanding. For more information about how to construct an argument, please refer to any introductory logic book.

I’ll admit, that truly is what it says in the Bible. But consider this also:
Mark 9:40 King James Bible
“For he that is not against us is on our part.”
This quote is much more forgiving of the common man - as Jesus would want you to be. Just because we do not stand shoulder to shoulder, does not mean we aren’t aren’t working towards the same goal (a better America, I would assume). When you live by this new quote, you approach new ideas, not with a sense of hostility, but with a sense of wonder and excitement at the possibility of learning something new.

First off, I’m pretty sure Jesus, being the shepherd, tends to both goats AND sheep. Secondly, in having no faith, I stand with neither while remaining unopposed to yours. FYI: I’m an agnostic. I think that believing there is no God takes just as much faith as believing there Is one, and so have simply admitted my own ignorance. And by releasing the shackles of faith and dogma, I have been allowed to step into the light of knowledge.
It saddens me to think there are still people in this world who blindly follow the sadistic, inconsistent, and sometimes plagiarized text of the bible while ignoring the knowledge bestowed by science. I don’t require your faith, I only require your understanding. The bible never said “And let Adam create a bird of metal that it should fly”, but we have airplanes all the same. So please, tell me what on God’s Green Earth has the bible shown to be true? We didn’t get math or physics from it. We didn’t get Biology or Chemistry from it. Show me a single scientifically-verifiable truth that the bible holds in defiance of science, and I will have faith. But if you can’t, as I’m sure you know will be the case, please stop asserting that a student could glean even a single iota of knowledge from a provably false tome.

In other words, the bible has to prove science is wrong for you to have faith? There wasn’t much science when the bible was written. In that case, that would be impossible to do. Science came later and has yet to prove that anything in the bible is false. So you do have it a bit backwards. Faith is when one believes in something that is not necessarily proven. In many cases, science is considered fact and then changes. This is mainly so because science depends on human involvement, thought and earthly matter. Many scientific reports and analyses have been disputed to be in error. Is this what you have faith in? Or would you rather have faith in something that has never been proven false?
In your own words, you know plenty about Jesus. Does Jesus exist? Without faith, he doesn’t exist, according to you. And false tome? Prove the bible is false!

Knowledge is everything you know, whether true or not!
