May Just Break—What?

Last night I saw the Liberal element deal with the issue of taxation. I was at the East Penn School District Broad meeting (Emmaus, Eastern Pa.) were they were debating the current school tax increase.
The Liberals rather then beginning with the hard facts of reality, that is, taxing folks stifle families and the social order and the higher the tax the harder it is on society. We had the liberal in favor of the tax hike and foolishly believing and defending that position. They made the claim that without the proposed tax increases the high standards of education within the district would suffer and deteriorate.
There was no accepting or even consideration that a couple of things may have taken place over the past years like, the budget was bloated and padded with excess waste and that it is running on a management system that was less then efficient. These two, excess and lack of efficiency, were never touched on too the degree that they made their point (not while I was there, the first 15-16 people to speak). The liberals foolishly believe that political and economic institutions can be molded at will to conform to the political vision in their heads.
There were any number of parents that praised the school, for its’ high standards, and attributed success of their children to the school. After hearing 2-3-4-5 plus parents stand-up at the mike and make that claim I couldn’t help but think how do they (the parents) know that their child may not have made it on their own in another school and were they not giving too much praise to the school system and not enough to the child, who after all really was the one that did it. The child may have been getting a combination of support from his church, friends, family and finally school and not school first.
Again it is not the successful child that is in question, for you will always have those. The fact of the matter is there will always be a small percentage of successes even in the worst of schools. We must consider the bloated budget and inefficiency of management, and the fact that we maybe reaching a position in society were additional taxation of its citizens is not possible. And this could be contrary to what the multi-millionaire said from the lectern/mike that he donated a million dollars to education and was in favor of the tax increase, maybe he should have donated to the poor so they could pay their school tax and stay in their homes because 4.4% may just break the Bank and backs of the citizen.

[…] is interesting, as Randy blogged http://www.lehighvalleyconservative.com/may-just-break-what/ today, how many people want more taxes. The word is “astounding”. However, those […]
