Men Transfer and What Do I Know?

Men transfer to God their own passions and dominating moral qualities, and determines the choice of religion by prevailing sentiments of their heart and the habits they have been trained in. The deceptions of life will be ever stronger in that persons’ life the further they get from the truth of the Bible.
I had the privilege of sitting in on a meeting last night. I suppose you could say there was present some movers and shakers on the local level. I accepted the invite for two reasons.
The first) I wanted to hear first hand what they thought the problems were and how they thought their solutions might solve the problems.
The second) I wanted to meet those people who were to be there.
The meeting would allow me to access their actions and what they had to say first hand. It never ceases to amaze me how people will not get to the truth of the matter. And consequentially offer up solutions that address the technical aspect of a problem, pitting details of correction against the perceived direction of the issue, which of course is being handle wrongly.
The question of why is this happening never came up and it was, in the few subjects discussed, always assumed the other side’s position was wrong and in all cases they knew exactly what the solution should be. I was particularly interested in their establishing of a core group of supporters and their efforts in getting a coordinated effort with their solutions.
At one point the one gentleman ask what the others thought the prime roll of government was? I kept quite and offer no answer but listened carefully to the others as they offered up answers. The same gentlemen then made it just a little more difficult by saying give me the answer in 3 words. What is the roll of government? It did not surprise me at some of the responses that were offer. And the responses spoke volumes to me and the conversation continued on without further discussion on what is? I was there as a guest and had no right to halt their agenda or flow of discussion at that point, so I kept quite on the question of what is and said nothing all night.
But it seems to me that was the core issue that needed to be resolved because it lies close to the root of all the problems. What is the governments’ job and “Why” are the two questions that needed to be answered before moving on and explaining the wrongness of the position of some Politician, Political Party or the Government entity. If you can’t establish a standard why argue a position?
But anyway, what do I know of “Solutions”.
