More on the East Penn School Board
Oct 1st, 2008 by Randy Toman
This past summer, we had been following the East Penn School District and the school tax increase imposed on the tax payers of that district. We should all be thankful for the dedicated men and women in those positions that are close to the action and willing to go nose to nose with these so called leaders of Democracy.
This is a very local issue and will not interest many outside the Lehigh Valley, PA but let me point out one important reason why it just might.
This type of situation is happening on all levels of government, a forcing of information that is being withheld. It is so common that it has become a major problem in the operation of government, and that it is destroying the very fabric that should be binding us together. What is that element? That element is basic trust in the human character. The very thing that makes us to trust each other to do what, to do right, by his brother or sister and/or to at least do right by some standard. It not only destroys personal trust in the individual, but allows the individual to think he/she can pass that on to the group. Taking the position with the group and thinking we are right forgetting law and rules and the most important thing personal character. The larger the group the further the individual gets from his responsibility and pretty soon we have no character and no one or nothing in charge or responsible for anything.
These are dangerous times and someone had better figure out were one’s character fits in to government because it seems everyone in government has lost his character and integrity. They made not be challenged personally within the group but they will be looked at individually and character will matter. They will bare their responsibility if only in the quite of their bedroom looking for rest and peace.
We Shall See
Here is the e-mail I received October 1, 2008.

Yesterday Joe Hilliard posted the following in the comment section of the LV Poliblog Comments Section
http://lvpoliblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/east-penn-antics.html
“We are seeking specific information. Our first Right to Know Request was rejected by the school district who, played word game semantics with our request.
The next one cannot be legally rejected. I expect we will have to go to court to have the request enforced.
Are they hiding anything? We will find out, but they sure ain’t cooperating.”
Today I recieved notice via email that
Gary Reigal, Director of Business & Fiscal Affairs
Leslie Daniel, Director of Personnel both decided to retire. This is interesting because we just recently voted to reinstate Gary. Something is amiss, or at least it smells that way.

Thank You Randy, During times like these, as in the past, “Group Think” and behavior with near anarchistic tendencies seems to rear it’s ugly head, and do precisely what you have indicated. That is destroying all trust in human nature, which is not perfect. But it’s all that God has given us…..PJF
Character What is that? Just wrote comment to a dallasnews. We wonder about virtue, truth, character in our politicians–no wonder. Whether it be East Penn or Washington Who do we believe? Well Sarah Palin may not be our saviour, but I know dog gone well Obama’s not! Just a little food for thought. Does anyone remember someone called “the Iron Lady?” Margaret Thatcher Well - she came from a small-town, middle class, church going family. Arguments against her were, no experience in foreign policy, defense or national security etc. BUT when the smoke cleared She had attack union restrictions and regulations, and revived British economy into strongest in Europe, took on environmentalist pushed oil drilling in North Sea that brought prosperity to the region, cut taxes and regulations on business, voted against abortion, was unapologetic on free market programs, was a tough anti-communist leader. I bet those Brits were sorry they gave her a chance. They also had another name for her “Attila the Hun in a skirt” Gee I don’t know — Here we could have a ” liar”, a “pro-communist” a “self serving self centered (Oh now wait –what is their symbol) that’s it -a donkey.” We better be listening, and we better think very carefully who we vote for. You may say Well, it always seems like we are voting for the best of the worst Maybe, but you better be picking that best of the worst. Good night God Bless.
