Not Defending Principles?

This came out of the “The American Spectator” July/August 2008 Page 15.
“Not Getting Their Act Together”
“There remains ongoing concern about the McCain campaign’s organizational structure and whether it can get up to speed in time for the Republican convention and the push to the November election.
Fundraisers say they are not getting the kind of response they were expecting from longtime givers who they believed would rally to McCain’s aid against what one fundraiser termed “a radical like Obama.”
“Everyone assumes that McCain is going to take federal matching funds, so you have donors who have not maxed out, who aren’t interested in donating more to McCain,” says another fundraiser.
Another concern: the slow pace of “Victory” offices being opened around the country, intended for GOP voter registration and local campaign organization. By early June, no offices had been fully opened in Ohio or Pennsylvania, two states McCain has said he believes he can win in November.
Finally, there’s seeming lack of concern among McCain’s senior staff at putting together an aggressive “get out the vote” program.”
Here we go again. Why is this happening? Maybe, what is happening?
Let me humbly attempt to try and answer that question by immediately turning to “Liberty of Conscience”. There are limits to this liberty of conscience, if gone beyond is not that persons liberty in truth but turns to sin and the infringement on other members of the social order and their rights. It becomes sin and evil against God.
So with that said there are limits to which this liberty can be carried. But there is also, and this is my point; a point to where in action and/or lack of action perverts through silence this trust of liberty of conscience. There can be no justification for being in opposition to the laws of the land (if just and good for the citizen) or God by using what one thinks is his liberty of conscience. God does let you use that claim and man in his own judgment takes that same privilege in making that claim. You have often heard, “He has gone to far.” Or “How dare he do that and/or say that?” We hear on a daily bases those sins from Senator O’bama, his ego and Liberty of conscience being over reached and sinful.
Well I say; how can Senator McCain not say something in defense of our rights? If he is laying claim to what he may say and in some cases has said with “Liberty of Conscience” then he is to be held to the same standard for what he does not defend and say as truth.
No man can have a right, even at the bidding of a mistaken conscience, to do that which is morally wrong. If that is true then it is also true no man has the right, if putting himself in the arena of responsibility, too then say “Silence” and “Ineptitude” is acceptable action. That claim is a false one and Hypocrisy is just outside the door waiting to come in.
Senator McCain inaction might be defended as he is running a poor campaign but history shows and there comes a point were he will not be able to use that as an excuse. And I fear he has already stepped over and outside that liberty and the people know it. We are just as responsible for our beliefs, words said and actions as we are for deeds and words not said. Both ways cross that boundary of “Liberty of Conscience” given to us by God.
The Republican Party on all levels must wake-up to this simple fact of, not defending principles is more egregious then what they are saying, and it is about time someone in the leadership understands that simple fact and wake-up to it.
