Obama and the Schools

So Obama wants to give more propaganda to our children in the schools? Isn’t that what the left has been doing for many years? If he wants to really help the schools, he should stay out of it and allow the private sector take control of the schools and let the parents have more control in what their children are being taught. The government schools has failed us and our children and the result is being seen in our culture. Right and wrong is what the schools want it to be and that means that the left is always right and the right is always wrong in the eyes of those currently running our “public” educational system.
Obama has to know that something is wrong in mostly the black communities when the drop out rate is over 50%, teenage girls are getting pregnant at an alarming rate, about 75% of black children are born out of wedlock and the fathers are nowhere to be found. The welfare system pays more for unwed mothers and only perpetuates the problem. Why would they get married when they get more entitlements to be single with children? Why would the fathers get married when they know their children will be wards of the state?
This is what Obama should be concentrating on if he really cared but he won’t. He and his family were recipients of the entitlement system and now he wants to spread the wealth to make the productive pay for more entitlements for the Democrat assigned victim classes. Shouldn’t he be encouraging the welfare community to be more productive and to contribute to society to lessen the burden on all? He should but won’t! He knows where his votes are coming from and the Democrats and Obama designed it that way, want it that way and will never give that up for “the children” they claim the care for. The public school children have been taught to accept mediocrity in education under the guise of fairness and multiculturalism. After all, self esteem can be taught and doesn’t need to be earned!
I understand why so many of the working class don’t get it and will continue to vote for failure. We are what we learn! If anything, our children need to be re-educated to unlearn the lies and the revised history the left have been teaching. How can Obama understand any of this when he is a product of left wing propaganda himself? He is also the product of Chicago politics and corruption. This is one of the reasons he hires America hating, self confessed Communists to give him advice. He really doesn’t know any better. It is up to us to show him the correct way or show him the door in 2012.
Where do we conservatives draw the line on socialistic aspects of our society? I think that is really the question. I don’t believe in Social Security or Medicare but I will bet you that a large majority of self described conservatives would screem bloody murder if either was abolished in favor of free market solutions. The dependence on government is too deeply imbedded in the American psyche. But there is a tipping point and that can be seen with the proposed government take over of health care. I can see it happening with much lesser things such as parents being fined if their kids don’t wear a helmet while riding a bike (I think that does exist in some states) or fined for allowing their children to be outside during the summer without sun screen (heard that one tonight). Britain has voluntary (for now) fat camps for overweight kids and you know that many in Obama camp dream of enforcing such things.
Despite 9/11, there is a sense of “it can never happen here” that pervades in the minds of most Americans. Our Constitition has been largely overwritten by the progressives but there is still a strong sense (I hope) among tax paying, working Americans that too much government intrusion in our lives is a bad thing. Our only hope, it seems to me is that Obama continues to do us the favor of pushing his agenda too far. I know the clean up will be immense but it might be worth it in the long run.
