Our Goverment Is Drunk And It’s Your Turn To Buy!

A good friend of mine, whom I’ll refer to by the name of Clyde, wrote me this letter, titled above. He is a concerned citizen who certainly has paid his dues. The letter:
Step into most any tavern and it won’t be long before you hear these famous words, sometimes just in fun but usually with a hint of serious hope. Someone who actually wants another drink to temporarily quench their insatiable thirst but they want YOU to buy. Sounds like most politicians and the longer they are in power, the more power drunk they become.
The gambler’s dream of getting something for nothing, has about half of this country drunk on the promise that the government is going to give them something for nothing. Well, at least part of that is true but the “shafting” we’ve been getting for years is nothing like what is coming, so you’d better get some lotion because it’s gonna hurt. There are those out there who actually believe in the term “OBAMA MONEY” and that he is going to give them some of it. Obama doesn’t give away his own money, he gives away yours and the real problem lies in the fact that a significant percentage of the country doesn’t even see that.
No government has one dime to give away unless they first take it through some form of tax from someone who has worked for and earned it. Or they can make it magically appear from thin air by printing paper with no backing and therein making whatever you have saved worth less.
Yes, we have problems but they can be fixed. Not by more and bigger government but by individuals taking pride in themselves. Forced not by foul, wasteful, lying and corrupt government but by the people, simply because they know they should. Like John F. Kennedy once said: “Not because it is easy but because it is hard”.
I am not against a “black” president but I am against this black president. If Bill Cosby had run, I could have voted for him. Read up on Cosby’s stated policies. They make perfect common sense and they are in the best interest of the country, not just self!
Some 25 years ago, I heard West Virginia U.S. Senator Byrd say that it’s his job to get all your (the tax payers of the United States) that he can for his state. If he had been a state Senator in the State House doing this for his state first, it would make some sense but HE WAS NOT. He was and regrettably still is a U.S. Senator from West Virginia and he should be in favor of policies that are in the very best long term interest of the entire United States and if they are not, they should fail!
Today we have so called “leaders” (with a small l) in Washington who say that Afghanistan can not succeed because their people think of “tribe” first and not country. Well, what do you think Senator Byrd and about 98 other Senators are doing? Their mentality is “it’s my state, my tribe first and to hell with this country.” Senator Byrd and most others in D.C. cannot be gone fast enough to give this country a chance to save itself from them……and besides, it’s your turn to buy!

It sure looks like the Father of American Socialism, Norman Thomas was prescient in the 1940’s when he said the following:
“The American people will never kowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will become a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened.”
Sadly, that day has arrived.
