Pawning State Property
Dec 27th, 2008 by The Outsider
I wondered how long it would be before many of the states that were deeply in debt, would start selling or leasing state property, property that the tax payers probably already paid for. That caused me to think about something else much related to just that.
By the government using tax payers money to bail out failed financial institutions and large corporations, the government is actually pawning the future labor of the citizens who make real money. What is our country really worth without our labor? Even our natural resources are worth little without being able process those resources and to bring our products to market. Many jobs in America involves work that supports or aids in making our work easier and quicker. Cutting back on many of these jobs will hurt the job market overall, since we have become so dependant on these “luxury” options. Fewer people will be eating in restaurants, etc. You get the picture!
How about our government cutting back a little? How about a lot? They still have all their perks, guaranteed pensions and medical coverage for life. At the same time, these same people tell us what we should and shouldn’t have when we retire. They even control how we “save” our own money. We can’t seem to do anything without having the government stepping in and telling us how to do it! They’re “taking care of us” don’t you know? Maybe we should be telling them what they should be doing since they would be in the poor house without the working class. Why are we putting up with all this? Why are we letting them steal from us and our future generations? We should all have learned from history about what happens to a society that lets the government run rampant over them. This is just a start! It will get worse, I’m sure. The government has sold us out in the same way they are going to sell property that already belongs to the tax payer. These are the kinds of things that have caused revolutions in many societies throughout history. Are we next? Is this the only way to hold our elected officials accountable, since nothing else seems to work? You tell me!
