State of the Economy

Do the unemployment numbers include the people on welfare and the people who gave up looking for work? I guess when we think of all the people who are retired, unable to work because of disabilities, all the children too young to work, college students and those that have non-productive jobs like many government workers and those collecting free unemployment paid for by us, we are in a lot of trouble. We should also note that government workers are actually paid by tax money, not the private sector. I would guess that only 20% of the people are supporting the other 80%.
Another reality is that people don’t save money as they used to, instead they invest with the notion that they will make more money without working for it, let someone else do the work, like the Chinese. Only the production and support of production creates wealth. As my dad used to say: Only the labor of the people creates wealth and economic growth. In a sense, we are all guilty because we want the easy way out. All the markets are based on this principle.
Someone once told me that we should and are becoming a service industry and the other countries are providing the labor. I told him that we MUST produce or the other countries will gain knowledge since engineering follows production. I was right. We now produce next to nothing and even much of our production is foreign owned. Our engineers are being surpassed by engineers in the third world countries and America’s remaining brightest and most productive are being taxed into oblivion. I’ve been in the electronics and communications field all my adult life and see it right before my eyes. Even in military weapons design (which I was part of), we are falling behind and using foreign technology along with their manufacturing and methods procedures.
The bottom line is that we will continue to lose jobs if something isn’t done to strive harder to properly educate our youth, especially in the sciences. Instead, the left has been filling their brains with politically correct garbage and pushing “progressive” agendas. Teachers union leaders (dumbbells) and others of their ilk, are setting the curriculum instead of the brightest amongst us. Every facet of our lives are being taken over by the government whose only interest is in themselves and their control over us.
Would someone please prove me wrong!
