The Greater Lie
Feb 18th, 2013 by Randy Toman
“The world’s markets are beginning to go haywire.”
So says Porter Stansberry in his article;
“The Great Lie that will Bankrupt America”
He goes on to say:
“—The world money system—the scales upon which the world’s market functions—is being deliberately destroyed. And so, the monetary signals that guide the markets—which are supposed to represent the supply and demand decisions of billions of people—have become distorted—.”
“You can see the signs everywhere—”
And further into the article we have this:
“You see, central banks are inflating the world’s money supply at an unprecedented pace. Never before has the entire world’s monetary system been completely untethered from gold and real rates on interest. Monetary theorist believe these manipulations can deliver the benefits of free market—wealth, abundance, a cornucopia of choices—-without any of the costs: savings, investments, labor, and interest.”
Still deeper into the article Stansberry quotes Seth Klarman head of the “Baupost Hedge Fund” to re-enforce his position.
“The short-term palliatives we are currently pursuing go against everything a long-term-oriented society should aspire to achieve. Today’s policies encourage spending over savings, reward the expense of the successful. The antidote now being dispensed puts us squarely in uncharted territory in which the risks are outside the range of historical experience…”
The “Great Lie” according to Stansberry as he closes is this:
“The distortions in the markets are the result of the deliberate manipulation of currency values around the world by central bankers. The central bankers are responding to their political master’s demands for easier money and cheaper credit. There is now, around the world, a widespread belief that the symbol of wealth (paper money) alone can deliver all the benefits of the market.”
Justifying his title and position he quotes Edward Gibbon British Historian:
“In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life and they lost it all—security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again.”
Now what is one to make of all this? Is it true or is it false?
As far as great lies—within the economic realm—-Stansberry could be right it is a great lie & it will bankrupt America if continued unchecked.
But is it the economic issue that is the greatest lie that will bankrupt the country? I think not—-there is another cause of concern that far outstrips this as a critical element and will prove itself a danger well ahead of the economic collapse.
It was not to long ago reasoning through issues and/or situations would take only a logical process with the goal being of convincing one or the other side their position was the right course of action——or even a possible compromise of the two positions and thereby moving forward—–at least moving forward within a tangent of correct direction. This process is no longer possible and will cause much danger and havoc.
I would suggest the paths of the right and of the wrongs are so confused that truth can not be discerned and that there can be no compromise and/or correcting of the problem because of this confusion. It was not to long ago there was order in that both political parties’s had the country’s best interest at heart, with some willingness to do right—–not so now.
This is the simplest of statement as to the problem and the “Greater Lie” is—–the fact that they are not able to compromise with some positive corrective direction—which is most alarming.
We have this:
1/ Both party’s going in the wrong direction—-neither willing to change that direction because of grasping at power and attempting only to hide their faults with silly political games of misdirection—all the while continuing in the wrongness.
2/ None of the party’s willing to draw a line in the sand for righteousness—-if indeed they could find it.
The hiding of the truth and the misleading of the sheep—-it is this deception that will prove to be the “Greatest Lie”.
We Shall See—-what is to happen to us—don’t you think?????

Great article. The funny thing is that much of this is so obvious if you think about it, such as this quote:
“Monetary theorist believe these manipulations can deliver the benefits of free market—wealth, abundance, a cornucopia of choices—-without any of the costs: savings, investments, labor, and interest.”
How can a “monetary theorist” not see what is perfectly obvious to any ten-year-old? These people are so corrupt, as are those in the media and government who promote them as “experts”, when in fact they are utterly stupid…or totally evil…or some mixture of the two.
Thank You Arrow,
At this point it is 90% evil and 10% stupidity and I believe in the next year and a half it will approach 99.9% all evil—-with very little having to do with ignorance. At that point in history two things will happen—-Self-Destruction of the culture and a country destroyed. We Shall See—shortly
Randy
Randy,
Good point. “Stupid or evil” is one of the most difficult things to discern sometimes, but I tend to think you are right in this case. And even if it’s incredible stupidity the root cause would still be evil, I guess.
Arrow—Thanks again
When “Stupid and Intelligence—both Evil” reaches a super majority it will all be as Paul writes in Romans Chapter 1 starting at verse 18—with the good old USA having big problems holding itself together—-and all will hinge on GOD’s mercy. Pray brother, God does not put the people or the country through something like 70 AD.

Good article. I agree with what you are saying but I think we all know ‘what’ is being done and why. We need to know ‘who’ is doing it, who is behind it and start naming names. If we did, we’d better find a good hiding place!
Outsider, you make a good point there.
The “who”, in exact terms, is not always easy to pinpoint. However what is more relevant is the fact that they ALWAYS work by deception.
All else being equal, a man armed with the truth will ALWAYS win over a man depending on a pack of lies.
The problem is that “all else” is not equal…the bad guys are always playing to win with their eyes open, and Christians are too often playing into a compromise with their eyes half shut to what they do not wish to see.
The solution…LEARN the truth the best we can…objectively…not in terms of personalities or parties…and STICK by it no matter what the political consequences.
Then we have done our part, and all that is left is to anticipate God’s blessing.
Outsider, I hope I did not convey the idea that figuring out the “who” and “why” are not important, as I do agree that they are.
To that end, here is a very useful tool:

Type the name of a political or finance figure in the search box and see what you find.
