I wonder how long we can remain a free society with the press that we currently have. Are they giving us the news or controlling the news? They seem to want to twist the news to favor only one party, and that would be the Democrats. It is obvious that they want to get Democrats elected in 2008. How can that happen in the United States? How can that be changed so that the press is politically balanced. Why aren’t our elected officials doing something about this, although I hate to the our government get involved in anything. Can the FCC do anything about this since most the news that we get is propoganda? A perfect example of this is the report that Christiana Amanpour of CNN did on “Christian Warriors” this past weekend. All she did was to blame conservative Christians and the Republicans, of mixing politics with religion. The Democrats do that all the time. She also spoke badly of Israel but not of the Palestinians, in their never ending feud in the Mideast. In her view, the innocent Palestinians only wanted to get back their land that the Israeli’s stole from them.

I’m afraid that our “dumbing down” of our public schools are not helping the people see this propoganda for what it is. In all Socialistic countries, the press controls what the people hear and in most cases, it is the government that allows it. Do we have certain elements of government controlling our press or just ignoring the press? Any answers?
