Third Party Candidate

Quote from link below
“Former Louisiana Gov. Charles “Buddy” Roemer has said he hopes to become the independent candidate to run for president as part of a group calling itself Americans Elect.”
Can this possibly be a game changer—-

The Republican Party is failing to satisfy the party conservatives and instead is going after the independents——a strategy that does not allow them to address the hard core issues that plague the country and certainly not get at the root of those problems.
If the Republican Leadership, think for a minute they are going to white wash the issues with lip service, thereby not addressing any of them, they are lost and sadly mistaken. The sadness of this is that compromising has settled in all the way to the local levels with few wanting to fight against this, cooperate mentality of follow the leader. Principles and truth is being filtered by the media and the Republican Party doesn’t seem to care. Instead of an all out campaign against the biased of the media they chose to walk the line that is painted for the them by the media, all the while not caring to much for the truth of things.
Maybe Congressman Ron Paul isn’t worry about running on a third party ticket because he already had this story—–months ago. Whether he runs or Roemer makes no difference the results will be the same—–Obama will be president again. This could explain the president’s calmness in knowing the outcome of November’s election. His deck is stacked with him knowing exactly when he will play every card. If the Republican leadership only wants a seat at the table (down at the end) it could also explain their willingness to compromise their positions on the critical issues.
Friends all this will change this summer with “Occupy Wall Street” and if the “Euro” goes down—-at that point I have no idea what the Republican Leadership is going to tell the Citizens of America.
But what do I know—–just this—-the Republican Leadership—-is not leveling with the party faithful nor the American citizens—-and it will come back to bite them and you know were.
We Shall See—–Don’t you think?????

The Democrats are socialists through and through, whereas the Republicans are socialists of convenience. When is the last time you heard a nationally known Republican-besides Ron Paul-make an argument based on principle that matched his voting record?
“at that point I have no idea what the Republican Leadership is going to tell the Citizens of America.”
I think I do. It will sound like this:
“It’s Obama’s fault”
“It’s the Democrats’ fault”
“You have to vote for us or else the Democrats will win.”
“I’m retiring with a fantastic pension. It has indeed been a lucrative career. God bless America”.
“It’s Obama’s fault”
“It’s the Democrats’ fault”
To be fair, the dems have been blaming Bush for every problem since Obama got in office! It’s a 2 way street that has cars (the MSM) that only drive one way. If the Repubs are Socialists, then the Dems are? Just look at the people they run around with…Bill Ayers, the Reverend Wright, Soros etc. Playing one group against another is Marxism! We need a whole new government that works for all the people, not just the people they like! We need unity, not division. I’m not so sure that there are enough voters that want real leaders, just someone to give them what they want. If they didn’t, Ron Paul would be much higher in the polls. Most conservatives want to be left alone. I just want what I earned but many dems think they are entitled to what I earned, thanks to entitlements and social experiments like Affirmative Action.
“Playing one group against another is Marxism!”
Exactly. That’s why I wish you would stop doing it.
Arrow, there is a difference between doing it and merely pointing out the hypocrisy. If we were all treated as equals by our government, we wouldn’t be in the mess we are in! God help us to understand one another!
Outsider, you said: “If the Repubs are Socialists, then the Dems are? ”
This is moral relativism. You are defending Republican socialism by pointing out that you think the Democrats are more socialist.
What is wrong with using an absolute standard, and honestly admitting that both parties practice socialism and therefore both parties are morally bankrupt, and anyone who defends either party is therefore a partaker in their evil deeds?
This is simple logic.
Joel asks:
“When is the last time you heard a nationally known Republican-besides Ron Paul-make an argument based on principle that matched his voting record?”
Now, this seems like an easy one. Seriously, with HUNDREDS of Republicans in congress, one would expect this to be a several-times-a-day occurrence.
But I can’t think on ONE…NOT ONE!
Can any of the GOP-worshippers (or anyone else) here give EVEN ONE example from, say, the past SIX MONTHS?
Remember Joel’s parameters:
1) Nationally know Republican;
2) Ron Paul does not count, because he does it every day;
3) The argument must be both “based on principle” AND “matches his voting record”.
And if I may add one more requirement: it must be a constitutionally correct argument; liberal slop does not count because then there would be easy picking.
ANY TAKERS?
…Crickets…
Just what I figured.
