We Need Good Foreign Policy in the Mid-East
Dec 27th, 2007 by The Outsider
The recent assassination of Pakistani’s Bhutto, should show all of us the need for good Mid-East foreign policy. When the 2008 election year approaches, all of us should think in broader terms of what will happen if we elect politicians that are weak on foreign policy or favor the wrong countries in terms of who will do us the most harm and which countries we can trust. We have plenty of our own problems to be sure, but an unstable Mid-East could lead to something far worse than just warring factions of disgruntled Muslims. We must remember that Pakistan has Nuclear weapons. If these fall into the wrong hands, we will be in danger. Another problem is the feud going on between Pakistan and India, who also has Nuclear weapons. India is a huge country and will not tolerate much. The US has been keeping a close watch on the whole Mid-East and has been trying to establish some sort of Democracy there for the most part of the last decade. It is in our interest to succeed. We can if we vote for the best people for the job in 2008. There is little else we can do. A link to an article on this very subject follows:
