What is Wrong—We Stand Accused
Jul 19th, 2009 by Randy Toman
“Most Americans remain convinced that the country is on the wrong track. They know that SOMETHING JUST DOESN’T FEEL RIGHT but they don’t know how to describe it or, more importantly, how to stop it. But just because you may not know exactly what your gut is saying doesn’t mean what you’re feeling is wrong. It’s not. Something hasn’t been right for a long time.”
From Glenn Beck’s book “Common Sense” Page 8
“Most Americans” I wonder how many are truly convinced there is something wrong? The talking heads of radio, like Glenn Beck, Rush, Laura, Sean, Mark, and the rest of them, know what is wrong. Why they are not saying it is beyond my understanding. If they would all proclaim the truth of the fall of Adam, we could at least straighten out the falsehood that man is good rather then fallen and they are not capable of pleasing God and thereby a sinner. Note I’m not getting religious and/or claiming any path to heaven although I believe it is through Jesus Christ that man can get to God, but let that rest for now and/or another time.
If we start with man as a sinner the evil in the world starts to make sense and common sense starts to make a lot more uncommon sense.
Quoting Glenn “Common Sense” page 9
“Our Founding Fathers understood that our right and liberties are gifts of God.”
Yes they understood that, but more importantly, they knew man was a sinner and needed to be controlled within the confines of politics and government. Thus they put in place a system of checks and balances in order to control sinful man.
Quoting from the Apostle Paul and his great book “Romans” chapter 3 verses 10-12 (Bible verses from the King James Bible)
(10) As it is written, there is none righteous no, not one.
(11) There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
(12) They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
The apostle is quoting from the book of:
Psalms chapter 5 verse 9
“For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulcher; they flatter with their tongue.”
Sounds like most of the politicians down in Washington DC.
Psalms charter 10 verse 7
“His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.”
The Apostle Paul is building his case as he uses “It is written” and it certainly does apply to our leadership in Washington DC.
Psalms chapter 14 verse 1: This one is a killer.
“The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God, they are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
Now you can understand why the fool does abominable things, also why God must go. The fool does not believe in Him.
Psalms chapter 36 verse 1
“The transgression of the wicked saidth within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.”
The politician in Washington has no fear of God so why in the name of anything would President Obama or any of the politicians fear or respect anything like the “Tea Parties” or what some radio talk show host has to say. WHY? WHY? WHY?
The problem is not the issue or not what side of the issue a person stands but why he or she is on that side. Proverbs makes it perfectly clear and Solomon understands with crystal clear clarity of wisdom what must be done. Proverbs chapter 1 verses 10 and 16
(10) “My son, if sinners entice thee, consent not.”
(16) “For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.”
The American people have consent to not force the issue of righteousness by giving up their right of “Consent” and allowing government to tolerate exactly what government will tolerate of us. And government will get less tolerant of the citizens as time goes by and the government goes further down the path of Marxism and we have done it, not the politicians, not Obama, for we are at fault.
Let me close by quoting Chares Bridges from his commentaries on the book of “Ecclesiastes” 1860 re-published by Banner of Truth 1961 page 214.
“Men of the most acute sagacity—the most profound wisdom—the largest grasp of mind—the most honoured talent, are shut up in the same prison—the blinded captives of sin! Can there be a more humiliating picture of man? This “fullness of evil” unrestrained rushes onward to “madness”— be it remembered— responsible “madness”—the will consenting to the sin—the heart loving it—the whole course of it pursued to the end. Let the sinner think a moment. Is not every act of rebellion against God an act of “madness”.”
This was Charles Bridge commenting on “Ecclesiastes chapter 9 verse 3.
“This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in the heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.”
We have lost our way, we have no way of forcing anything to be righteous, these things can only be done of God. We have rejected God and what we have lost is the ability to proclaim righteousness because we have no gods to help us to do that. So we stand hoping and waiting for the Republican Party to proclaim principles and they have none and we do nothing to make any proclamation. Why is this, can we not find or do we not have Biblical standards and/or principles of the law of the land? What is holding us back from stating our position? All the while, we say nothing about these evil things that are being done, why is that, are they not sinful?
WE SHALL SEE and shortly—all the while we stand accused.
