Where I Stand an Answer

Belief in Jesus Christ is by definition “Christianity” the doctrine and/or beliefs that come out of the Bible by these denominations is what gets to be the confusion issue. And when the doctrine is so corrupted as to be outside belief in Christ as savior, it is deemed Heretical.
But I did not say that nor did I say what I believe is the only true positioning of “Christianity” actually only God knows the heart and who is truly His. What I said was “History” will show the truth and you can judge from those religions as to which one is best and/or was best for man.
Scientists can deny whatever they want with regards to creation and the number of days it took. How in the heck can they even go there, we are arguing nonsense, I would just as soon they said GOD could not do it at all. And this nonsense of the big “Bang” were in the heck did the thing that blew-up come from and don’t tell me it was just there. And don’t tell me nothing can blew-up, and puff life comes into being. Why I would sooner believe in some kind of god. Crazy talk, totally illogical and without reasoning but let them believe what they want.
There is no burden on me to prove anything too Hitchen, let him believe whatever he wish’s. And as far as rules I get mine from the Bible, I hope where ever he gets his rules they are compatible with mine for I know mine are time tested and true.
Let me come back to the scientist and give you this.
“The British mathematician and meta- physician Alfred North Whitehead (1861-1947) said this: “In the first place, there can be no living science unless there is a wide-spread instinctive conviction in the existence of an order of things, and in particular, of an order of nature. Whitehead regarding the middle ages as the most important period leading up to the growth of modern science.”
Quoted from “ Summit Ministries” ‘The Journal’ June 2008 issue page 3 bottom.
The surprising thing to me is we had science accepting Darwin and his theory of change (evolution) were nothing is fixed and now the only thing that is fixed is change itself. They and O’bama would get along great. But who I’m I to question them.
Somehow you and Hitchen have it wrong, God, nor I need prove anything for it is given once to die then judgment, God knows and is sovereign and I shall see. In the mean time we shall watch the world slip and slide down into Hell. The fortunate thing for me is because of my age I don’t think I will see the bottom, you may and I wish you and Hitchen well.
As far as defending my/the social compact theory being through God and for man, you need only study the Reformation starting with Wycliff, Hus, Calvin, Luther, the Westminster Confession, English Law and the development of Western Civilization. And then the Mayflower Compact the first social compact here in America and then the different state constitution and what they used in the development of their set of laws.
Blackstone does quite the job in his commentaries of English law. And more recently Greg L. Bahnsen in his masterful book “Theonomy in Christian Ethics” (1977) does a magnificence job of outlining God’s law. Dr. Bahnsen died sometime in the 1990’s. R. L. Dabney (1820-1898) one of the greatest Southern Presbyterian Theologians of the 19th century said this, one-year before his death and in his last book “The Practical Philosophy” published in 1897.
“ You may deem it a strange prophecy, but I predict that the time will come in this once free America when the battle for religious liberty will have to be fought over again and will probably be lost, because the people are already ignorant of its true basis and conditions.” Page 394
The Social Gospel and Progressive Movement were about to be born in the early 1900’s. The “Enlightment”, Robespierre, Marx, Darwin, they had all planted their seeds and Communism (Russia) was about to burst on to the scene along with socialism. Some 100 years later we/you shall see. We are living in times were History will show us what shall be and I’m afraid it is not going to be good. So finally, I need not prove anything, death will come, judgment, and I do not worry about that day for I have Christ.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 King James Bible (one of my favorites)
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
